A NEWSAGENT in Wokingham has been ram raided overnight.
It is understood that a green Land Rover Defender smashed into the front of Cherry Local convenience store in Bean Oak Road shortly after 3.30am.
Parts of the car were strewn across the road as they destroyed the front of the shop.
It is not yet known what was stolen. Eyewitnesses said the thieves left the scene in the Land Rover and a second vehicle.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “At around 3.30am this morning, we received several reports of a ram-raid burglary in progress on Bean Oak Road, Wokingham.
“Police officers attended the scene, but the offenders had fled the shop.
“Officers are investigating and ask for anyone with information to call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43230065482.
“Alternatively, provide information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
