A Wokingham social care employee has received recognition for her commitment and ‘can do attitude’, as she has been chosen to be part of a distinguished leadership programme.
Social care provider Optalis nominated its employee, registered manager Charlotte Sehmi, to be part of its annual Rising Stars scheme.
The ongoing programme, developed with The National Care Forum, teaches the managers selected by their organisations how to develop their leadership skills, offers mentoring and amazing opportunities to help them in their careers.
Ms Sehmi even had the chance to dine with Care Minister Caroline Dinenage MP and ten other care managers chosen by their organisations in the programme on Tuesday, July 16.
They were able to share stories about how to provide the best care in the local area.
Optalis’ assistant director Helen Woodland said: “Charlotte has shown a great determination and enthusiasm to personally develop herself which has resulted in her reaching her current position as Registered Manager, one of our true rising stars within Optalis.
“Charlotte always applies a ‘can do’ attitude to everything, nothing ever seems like it is insurmountable. This is refreshing and an infectious characteristic to her personality. We are proud to have and develop her as a manager.”
The managers were also able to attend the NCF Annual Conference on July 5, where they could discuss the challenges within the sector.
