A LITTLE bit of Americana will come to Charvil this weekend, thanks to a singing workshop.
Suzanne Newman will be leading the event for female voices.
She has arranged a selection of American folksongs for a two-part choir, and they include L’il Liza Jane, Simple Gifts and Shenandoah.
The event runs from 2pm to 4pm, on Saturday, July 1, at Charvil Village Hall in Park Lane. Places cost £10 which includes music and refreshments.
A second session will be held on Monday, July 17, aimed at helping female voices improve their sight singing.
Ms Newman says this will help people learn about note-reading, rhythm and musical terms.
Places cost £10, and this includes a book to keep. The session runs from 8pm to 9.30pm.
