A READING charity supporting newborn babies has seen a boost through a donation made by an international business.
Babies in Buscot Support (BIBS), which provides help to special care babies and their families in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, has concluded its charity partnership with tax and auditing service RSM.
The partnership concluded with a donation from RSM to BIBS of £24,510, presented at an event where fundraising manager Liz Josef welcomed RSM partners and team members Gayle Davies, Bella Meighen, and director Samantha Day.
It comes as RSM offices across the UK were challenged to choose charities and present fundraising ideas for them, with the chosen offices winning further funds for their causes.
RSM Reading’s director, Ms Day, nominated Babies in Buscot for the office’s support following her own experiences as a former Buscot mum.
The team subsequently organised 16 events over the 7 month period, including wine and gin tasting, Coronation cream teas, marathons, Green Park runs, bake sales, and football tournaments, raising £19,510.
Due to the team’s success, they were chosen by the RSM Foundation to receive a further £5,000, for a total of £24,510.
