DAN BATEMAN says new signing Joe Cummuskey will have a “massive part to play” for Wokingham and Emmbrook.
The defender arrived earlier this month from Hellenic Division One East rivals AFC Aldermaston and made his debut as a substitute in the 8-0 win over Thame Rangers.
And he followed that up with a first start at the weekend where Wokingham saw off Didcot Town Reserves 4-1 to climb up to fourth in the table.
INTERVIEW: Bateman says FA must act now to save grassroots football

And Bateman says signing Cummuskey was too good an opportunity to turn down.
“Joe’s a player that I’ve got a lot of respect for and he’s done really well when we played against him at the start of the season,” said the Sumas boss.
“I know that he was one of Aldermaston’s better players. I was looking for another centre-half because James Charlton is moving to America after Christmas.
“So I’ve got a vacancy and then the opportunity came up to sign Joe and I snatched his arm off to be honest.
“I’m really pleased to get him. He’s a footballing centre-half, he fills a hole for us and he’s fitted in with the lads really well.
“I’m really keen to get him involved and get him up to speed with where we are and I’m sure he’ll have a massive part to play for us.”
