A charity football event will be held this weekend at Eversley & California Football Club to celebrate the life of Ollie Blake-Brennan.

The event, named the ‘Blaker’s Cup’ was created in July 2011 to celebrate the life of Ollie, who sadly passed away in May 2011.

The football tournament will be hosted with aim to raise money for research into treatments for Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.

Ollie attended The Emmbrook School and had played for Finchampstead Football Club from a young age.

A statement on Ollie’s JustGiving donation page reads: “The mission was to bring all the family and friends who loved him together to enjoy one of his passions, football.

“A key purpose of creating a football tournament was to raise awareness of the terrible condition, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and of course raise some money for research into treatments.

This will be the third edition of the tournament, with the first being played in 2011 and the second taking place in 2016.

11 years after the inception of the event, Ollie’s family and friends will be able to come together to celebrate his legacy.

Almost 30 teams will battle it out for the trophy in a day that will cater for everyone and will feature a bouncy castle, a bbq, vegan pancakes, smoothies, ice creams and doughnuts.

There will also be a raffle where prizes include spa days, Avios points, signed McLaren merchandise, tickets to events and a signed Reading FC shirt.

The tournament takes place at Eversley & California FC. Gates are open from 9am and the tournament starts at 10.30am.
