A GROUP that loves literature will meet this month in Wokingham to discuss the memoirs and poetry of Maya Angelou.
Wokingham Literary Society will be hearing from visiting speakers, Pat Vokes and Angela Wade, who will talk about the life and works of the renowned American poet, memoirist, and civil rights activist.
Angelou produced a significant body of work that explores themes of identity, trauma, resilience, and liberation.
Her work includes both autobiographical novels as well as poetry, which have made a profound impact on literature, particularly in the context of African American experiences.
The Wokingham Literary Society meets in the Lecture Room of Wokingham Baptist Church, on a Thursday each month.
Their next event will take place on Thursday, March 16, at 7.30pm.
