WOKINGHAM Borough Council (WBC) is counting on the regeneration this week as it explores the way in which its car parks are used.
Surveys will be conducted in all Wokingham town centre carparks from Thursday to Saturday.
The aim of these surveys – which will take place between 7am and 7pm – is to help WBC get a clearer understanding of the number of vehicles parked in each car park, and the length of time they are staying.
This information, which will be compiled by Intelligent Data Collection, will be used to consider how best to provide car parking in the future to support the ongoing Wokingham Town Centre Regeneration proposals, which include building a multi-storey car park in the Carnival Pool complex.
The surveys will involve counting, every 30 minutes, the number of vehicles parked in each car park, and in some cases will include the use of video cameras and loops placed across the site entrances.
