A bus company has been forced to swap its vehicles due to what it described as “.. issues with overhanging trees.”
The Claret 21 service links central Reading with Whiteknights, Earley and Lower Earley. It was previously served by a double-decker bus.
Reading Buses, which operates the service, took to social media on Monday morning to explain its decision to use a single-deck bus.
It said: “We are making safety our topmost priority, and are doing our utmost to resolve the matter with Wokingham Borough Council.”
It offered apologies for reduced capacity on the route, adding it hopes to return to a normal service as soon as possible.
A spokesperson for Wokingham Borough Council said it expected the works to remove the offending branches to be completed this week.
