A FINCHAMPSTEAD horticultural group will hear about the work of the group that looks after cemeteries and memorials.
California Gardeners Club welcomes visiting speaker Rebecca Dowling of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), who will talk about what they do to keep special commemorative places in prime condition.
Anyone who has visited any of the 23,000 war cemeteries and memorials around the world to the war dead of the Commonwealth, will have experienced the beauty and serenity of these places, largely thanks to the work of the CWGC.
Ms Dowling will talk about the commission’s history, and the detailed horticultural work it does to preserve memorials and cemeteries.
The event will take place at California Ratepayers Hall, on Monday, April 1, at 8pm.
It is free to members, and £2 for visitors, with all welcome.
