Another crash has happened at an “accident blackspot” south of Wokingham this morning.
A head on collision occurred between an elderly woman and a teenager at the corner of Jubillee Road, The Ridges and Rectory Hill Finchampstead. A third vehicle is believed to be involved.
The junction was for 100 years the site of the Finchampstead War Memorial.
It is understood that Macy Fox, aged 19, was driving a white Seat Ibiza car and an elderly woman was driving a blue Mercedes.
An Audi TT Sports Car was still littering the traffic island from a previous accident a week earlier.
The older woman, visibly shaken, said: “My sister lives around the corner. It’s her 89th birthday today. That’s what I was going to.”
A former chair of Finchampstead Parish Council, Cllr Simon Weeks was on scene, photographing the fallout.
He said: “I’ve seen the aftermath of all eight of the accidents that have happened since November.
“This was the first accident today that didn’t follow the pattern of the other seven.
“I think what we really want to see is some action. Wokingham BC promised some emergency white lining about 10 days ago, and we’d like to see it happen.
“I think what we’ll see in the short term is some white lining and coloured road surface and larger road signs.”
