HUNDREDS of visitors packed out a town centre church to admire a display of Christmas trees.

Wokingham Methodist in Rose Street welcomed all ages to its annual Festival of Christmas Trees over the weekend of December 4-6.

During the three days, guests could inspect 50 trees, each decorated by local groups that use the church or The Bradbury Centre. They included MoreArts and Wokingham Art Society.

Live music, nativity sets and refreshments were also available and there were Traidcraft stalls and children’s activities.

Wokingham Town Mayor, councillor Philip Mirfin, said he admired what he saw when he visited.

“It was very impressive,” he said. “There was everything: the local food bank had an empty tree with a single label on it, there were lots of other organisations.
