A borough church plans to hold an eco event, where visitors can explore the environment and their relationship with the world.
Crowthorne Baptist Church says that its open weekend will include an exhibition, media meditations, and a talk by a guest speaker from the Baptist Union of Great Britain’s Environment Network.
The church hopes their special event will help visitors to develop environmental awareness and commitment.
On Saturday people will be able to explore the wonder of creation, through a visual display and four creation-inspired short films, on the themes of coasts, sky, trees, and life.
Called, God Saw That It Was Good, the church says the exhibition features inspirational images and science and faith narratives to share what they believe is God’s mission to the whole community in an age of climate change and environmental crisis.
On Sunday, Dave Gregory will be the guest preacher at the church’s regular morning service, on the theme of Whole Earth Discipleship.
For young Sunday visitors there is a Shine Does Science event led by Dr Dave and the Shine team of Crowthorne Baptist Church.
This is an informal afternoon service for all the family, with scientific investigations, experiments and activities.
The eco weekend will take place at Crowthorne Baptist Church, on Saturday, February 10, and Sunday, February 11.
The exhibition is on Saturday, with doors open from 11am until 3pm.
Entry is free, with refreshments available.
The Sunday service is at 10.30am, while Shine takes place in the afternoon, from 3pm until 4.30pm.
Places for Shine need to be booked in advance, costing a suggested donation of £2.
