AS THE fireworks fade and the night goes quiet again, I can’t help but smile at how those bursts of colour light up the sky — so bright, so joyful, and yet gone in an instant.
They make us gasp, cheer, and look upward together. But once they fade, the darkness returns.
It got me thinking — life can feel a bit like that, can’t it?
We look for flashes of happiness or excitement to brighten our days, but they don’t last long.
Jesus once said: ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life’.
His light isn’t a quick sparkle that disappears; it’s steady, warm, and unchanging.
When Jesus was on earth, He brought that light wherever He went — healing, forgiving, encouraging, and loving people who’d lost hope.
‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.’
His light still shines today, even when life feels cloudy.
And here’s the best bit — He passes that light on to us.
Jesus said: ‘You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others.’
So whether it’s through kindness, laughter, or helping someone in need, we get to sparkle for Him.
Fireworks fade fast — but the light of Christ keeps shining in us and through us, bright enough to make the whole world a little warmer.
