As we hurry towards the General Election we are bombarded by slogans and sound bites which encourage us to think that it is time for a change!
And I don’t disagree, I believe it is a time for change, not in terms of party politics but in terms of our thinking as a wider humanity, time to change our thinking towards the homeless, abandoned, lonely, fragile and isolated.
To rise up against injustice and exclusion, to say ‘what can I do?
Let us reflect, as we consider our future at this time, what can we do to make the community we live in a place that embraces, encourages and finds solutions to those who are in need rather than turning a blind eye to the reality of our society on our doorstep!
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
