A SELF advocacy group for people with learning disabilities in the Wokingham borough keeps busy this month.
CLASP members plan to get busy in the garden and to discuss how to treat people fairly.
Regular sessions continue too, including Movie Mates, Coffee Shop, Dancing to Music, Book Corner, Happy & Healthy Club Sports & Fitness sessions, Craft Club, Evening Drop-In at Sedero Lounge, Active Session with a walking group and My Journey Woky Bikes 4 All, Gardening Club, Take Notice, Puzzle Club and Choir.
Take Notice sessions on Friday mornings at the Bradbury Centre from 10am until noon continue, too, with a full program of discussions designed to consult, campaign, inspire and inform.
On Friday May 9, the group will discuss safeguarding with Wokingham Borough Council’s Learning Disability team.
Friday May 16, is a members’ discussion group, and the following Friday there will be an opportunity to see an Inequalities Project video CLASP members helped to make.
And on Friday May 30, there will be a talk about volunteering at Dinton Pastures.
CLASP was gifted a new poly tunnel by Hall Hunter in April, so the group’s Gardening Club will be able to move forward with their plans, not only for their Oakfield Court site, but with a partnership project with Gorse Ride School’s Butterfly Garden.
Gardening Club runs every Thursday from 2pm-4pm.
All are welcome, and it costs £2 to attend.
CLASP’s twentieth anniversary celebrations continue with everyone at CLASP taking on personal challenges and enjoying new experiences.
