June is Pride month around the world, and Wokingham Pride is preparing for its annual 2025 celebration on 12th July.
“We’re kicking off with events giving out Pride flags at local businesses”, said Pride Chair, Rachel Bishop-Firth. “We run these Flag Days every year. We have great conversations with people around the town, who really appreciate finding out about Pride. If you can spare an hour or two, please come and join us”.
Dates and times are:
Woodley – 10am Saturday 14th June, meeting at Bosco Lounge, 55 Crockhamwell Road, Woodley
Wokingham – 10am Saturday 21st June, meeting at Sedero Lounge, Central Walk, Wokingham
“We are also looking for marshalls to help out on the day”, said Pride Trustee Jillian Hardie.
“Please come and visit the Wokingham Pride website at wokinghampride.wixsite.com/wokingham-pride/volunteer to find out more”.
Wokingham Pride will take place on Saturday, 12th July. The day will start with photos at Wokingham Town Hall at 11am. There’s a parade from the marketplace through town at 11:30, and from midday to 5pm there will be bands and stalls on Elms Field. Please bring a picnic or takeaway to enjoy!
The day is free and everyone who supports the aims of Pride is welcome.
