Wokingham Borough Council has confirmed that a number of its staff have been made redundant.
In a statement to Wokingham Today, Cllr Rachel Bishop-Firth, executive member for equalities, inclusion and fighting poverty said “Consistently low funding from the Government and high inflation has left the borough council needing to save more than £12 million this year and make further savings in the year ahead.
“We are making these savings in a range of ways to minimise impact on residents. Overall, the changes have led to a very small number of redundancies being necessary.”
