LOCAL COUNCILLOR to complete 131ft charity abseil for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) this weekend.
Cllr Charlotte Haitham Taylor will be abseiling down the façade of the St. David’s Hotel, Cardiff Bay on Saturday, November 9 as part of the British-American Project’s annual conference.
The abseil is slightly higher than the Christ the Redeemer statue above Rio.
Cllr Haitham Taylor said: “I am delighted to be raising vital funds for the RNLI, this much loved and valued charity. They do a fantastic job both here in this country and abroad.
“They keep our waters safe for everyone not only offshore but also inland and around natural disasters such as flooding.
“I have seen the RNLI in action first-hand saving lives whilst holidaying on the coast of Cornwall throughout my childhood, they were called out frequently to help individuals who had got into trouble in the unpredictable currents and fast tides off the coastline there.
“They do an amazing job when it really counts, please help me raise funds so they can continue to save lives.”
