Cricket round-up: Wargrave stay in title hunt with win over Finchampstead

Home Counties Division One

WARGRAVE remain in the hunt for the title after they saw off FINCHAMPSTEAD by seven wickets.

Finch batted first and Wargrave had then all out on 132 as bowler Euan Woods took a five wicket haul.

Wargrave managed to chase down the total with relative ease after 29.2 overs to take the win.

They lost just three wickets in the process as the partnership of Dan Lincon (34*) and Josh Lincoln (57*) guided them to victory.

The win keeps Wargrave in second place, only behind league leaders High Wycombe.

Finchampstead are in eighth position on 120 points from 11 games.

WOKINGHAM suffered a heavy defeat at Henley after a dominant batting display from the hosts.

The Oaks were skittled all out on 126 before Henley dropped just one wicket on their way to claiming victory.

BCM Championship

EMMBROOK AND BEARWOOD stay in pole position after they got the better of SHINFIELD by seven wickets.

Shinfield batted first and put 133 on the scoreboard as Bears’ bowler Andy Robertson picked up five wickets.

Emmbrook were clinical and lost just three wickets on their way to securing the match as Matt Loxton top scored with 54.

After 11 matches, Emmbrook have an impressive 74 point lead at the top.

Chilterns Division One

EMMBROOK AND BEARWOOD 2s picked up a win on the road at Pinkneys Green 2s.

Pinkneys set Emmbrook a target of 147 to win the match and they did so within 27.2 overs as Ravi Balakrishnan (54*) saw them over the line.

BCL Premier Division

READING UNITED stay in first position after their convincing win over Stratfield Turgis.

Reading put 211 on the scoreboard before they had their opponents all out on 124 to seal success.

CROWTHORNE & CROWN WOOD 2s collected 40 points with a 59-run triumph over WEST READING 2s.

Crows scored 164 and then skittled West Reading all out for 95 which included six wickets from Ravi Godbole.

SHINFIELD 2s got the better of SANDHURST by eight wickets.

BCL Division One

EARLEY lost out by six wickets in their away fixture at Maidenhead Royals.
