GOOD times never felt so good – and while Royals fans might feel they are in short supply right now, there have been plenty over the years including when they were promoted to the Premier League.
A chance to look back at those many times is coming to Reading town centre on Wednesday, thanks to The History of Reading Society.
Reading FC club historian David Downs is to be the guest speaker, giving a talk entitled Biscuits and Royals.
The illustrated talk will feature some of the ephemera from his personal collection, and reveal which goalkeeper had a wooden leg and which one scored twice in single game.
He will also look at the record defeat of 18-0, a cup final win at Wembley, the fan who slept overnight on the pitch and other fascinating tales about RFC.
The event takes place in Abbey Baptist Church in Abbey Square, Reading on Wednesday, September 20, from 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm.
Entry is £2 for visitors, and no pre-booking is necessary.
