RAILWAY & Transport Club members can learn about the history of Ceylon railways at their next meeting
A talk in January will be given by Peter Greatorex and Simon Colbeck, who will take the group on a visual journey in the East.
Their talk, British Steam in Sri Lanka, will start with the history of Ceylon railways using archive images, before moving on to showcase Simon’s pictures taken more recently.
The club organisers say they are delighted to welcome back the two speakers who entertained last year with their talk, Steam in China.
Railway & Transport Club attracts more than 40 members, enabling men and women of all ages to share their common interest.
Members meet on the third Tuesday of the month to hear a wide range of presentations on transport topics, including heritage and steam railways, with the opportunity for refreshments and time for a chat.
The next event takes place at Wokingham Methodist Church, Bradbury Centre, on Tuesday, February 17, at 7.30pm.
Entry costs £5, including refreshments.
