AN AFTERNOON event in Woodley this weekend will give shoppers and visitors to the town an opportunity to remember lost loved ones by sponsoring a light on a special Christmas tree.
Organised by Woodley and Earley Lions Club, the annual Tree of Light event will help people to cherish family memories while supporting the Lions fundraiser.
“Everyone can have the opportunity to sponsor a light on the Christmas tree in memory of
a loved one,” said
Deborah Morton from the Woodley and Earley Lions Club.
“And there will be a Carol concert, free mulled wine, mince pies and song sheets handed out by Lions Club volunteers.”
To sponsor a light in memory of a loved one, people should visit the Woodley and Earley Lions Club website.
“It’s always a very moving and extremely well attended event,” added President of Woodley and Earley Lions Club Stella Taylor.
The tree and Woodley town centre lights will be switched on at Woodley Precinct, on Saturday, November 29, at 4.30pm.
