A BOROUGH music group with a passion for all things opera and operetta is preparing to entertain audiences.
Park Opera invites people to A Night At The Opera, which will be staged in Sunninghill, Windlesham, and Wokingham.
Described as a ‘sparkling concert of popular gems from the world of opera and operetta, the event promises to be a fun evening out.
“There will be some wonderful singing, and glorious tunes are guaranteed,” said Susanne Lee from Park Opera.
“People can expect passion, humour and pathos too, from stirring choruses, romantic melodies and moving ensembles – there’s sure to be something for everyone.”
Highlights will include the trio from Cosi Fan Tutti; Rusalka’s Song To The Moon by Dvoŕak; Oh Peaceful England from Merrie England by Edward German; Champagne Ensemble from Die Fledermaus; and You Are My Heart’s Delight from Lehar’s Land Of Smiles.
The concert will feature soloists: sopranos Lucy Dickson and Petronella Keresturi, mezzo-soprano Harriet Kirk, tenors Matthew Connolly and Jeremy Valentine, and baritones Simon Wilson and Ian Henderson.
Simon Wilson is musical director, with accompaniment from Jo Miller Shepherd.
Wokingham audience members will be able to enjoy the concert at The Whitty Theatre, on Friday, March 13, at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £15 for adults, and £5 for children.
Refreshments will be available to buy pre-concert and during the interval.
