Every Step Counts: A simple test to good health

“An affirmation opens the door. It’s a beginning point on the path to change.”

We left last week’s thoughts on a path to affirming excellence in our lives. We discovered how you can use affirmations to make the best version of yourself possible and how making them a daily ritual is as straightforward as brushing your teeth.

Affirmations SHOULD be used by everyone and MOST DEFINITELY is one of my favourite tools that I like to use WITH clients. I say WITH as many new clients that work with me have had negative experiences with previous coaches and trainers as they felt there were various methods that were DONE to them.

This is something I try and counter straight away. When you work with a coach it is a two way relationship and things should be done together. A quote I like to say is “Trust can take months and years to earn but can be lost in a second.”

Let’s keep on building that TRUST between us, OK?

This week I want to talk to you about something very scientific and is a further example of something you have not heard of but would be very interested in trying. This week I would like to talk to you about BLOOD DIAGNOSTIC TESTING.

ormally this type of stuff costs a lot of money and time delays can be huge. Many people are put off waiting months for a referral from the doctor or cannot afford the annual costs associated with private health care.

So what is blood diagnostic testing and how could it help you in your long term goals?

According to the NHS: “Blood tests can be used in a number of ways, such as helping to diagnose a condition, assessing the health of certain organs or screening for some genetic conditions.”

A leading diagnostic testing company has said: “health checks or health screens are for people who want to gain valuable insights into their health. You may want to investigate a condition that runs in the family, check the effect your diet is having on your blood markers or just gain some peace of mind over a niggling worry.”

Another scientific organisation stated recently “You don’t need to feel unwell or have symptoms to benefit from a thorough health check. Health screens are aimed at prevention by identifying problems early  before they present symptoms and when there is still time to take action. If caught early enough, many of the conditions we test for can be easily treated through lifestyle changes and/or medication.

How cool is that?

How amazing is it that now in 2018 we can find out this stuff to help us move forward and smash out goals?

Doesn’t it get you excited that you can now actually quite easily and at no crazy cost find out what is going in inside your body and then do something about it before it becomes a major problem?

Well the good news for you is that I have been researching around this subject for some time now. Due to working for a number of years in the field of improving people’s lives specifically my own clients, I can help you in a number of ways. You see, the way it has always been done with many trainers including myself is to measure various metrics that can help you assess position A.

Position A is massively important as it allows you to get a starting point but also then allows you to come up with specific goals that you can focus on and then target. For me, all clients that I work with do a very specific session when we first start working together. Areas that we will first measure include but are not limited to weight, BMI, body fat, metabolic age, visceral fat, waist circumference, neck circumference, muscle stretching ability, joint mobility, functional screening, mental state, previous successes etc.

I very recently had a client start with me that had worked with two previous trainers and they had not carried out a functional movement screen. This is criminal … trust me.

If you are currently working one-to-one with someone and they haven’t conducted a functional screen, thank them for their services and contact another coach and demand you get one. This could be the best decision you make TODAY.

With modern technology and with companies that I have now partnered up with, it is possible to check for a huge range of screens and conditions that will give you peace of mind and also more knowledge to move forward with. I have already had a huge amount of interest from my current clients but I love this column, I love The Wokingham Paper and I love the readers such as YOU so for me today the goal was to open your eyes to what is now possible in your goal of being the version of yourself.

A mentor of mine by the name of Peter Drucker has an amazing quote it reads: “Measure compulsively. What gets measured gets managed.

Another huge influence on me has been Tim Ferris, the author of The Four Hour Workweek. He says that “In the world of action and negotiation, there is one principle that governs all others. The person who has the most options has more power. Don’t wait until you need options to search for them. Take a sneak peek at the future now and it will make both action and being assertive easier.”

So what you waiting for?

Do you want to know more about what is going on inside your body with the things you can’t see? If so, drop me a line and I’ll give you some answers.

Do you want to improve your health and move forward with strategic actions rather than guesses and estimates? Give me a call and let’s make it happen.

Do you wake up tired every day and feel you could be deficient in one or more vitamins and minerals?

Have you had cholesterol issues within the family and would like to know quickly and simply how you are doing inside?

Have you had a nagging feeling that something isn’t right but you have been putting off going to the doctors? Stop the habit loop right now, pick up the phone and call 07921 849620 and start moving forward with actionable steps with someone like myself.

The path to success is to take massive determined actions.

Personal power is the ability to take action.

The future depends on what you are going to do today.

Have a great Thursday and do what you have to do and deep down need to do. TAKE ACTION.
