What can I say about the last few weeks other than it has been amazing.

I believe that one of the best things about being a parent is the amazing opportunities you get to watch them flourish and just having fun being young.

EVERY STEP COUNTS: Make the most of Christmas, it's such a special time of year

Now, without a doubt, you get so many opportunities when the kids are off school, and I LOVE that.

Work arrangements change, my one-to-one client facing time decreases temporarily, focus shifts and to be honest I really do try and prioritise being present and seeing the time as an opportunity.

My kids went back to school on Tuesday much like many of the other children around the area. It actually felt like an eternity since they were last at school, this end of term break has felt so long but I love that. I put this down to the fact that we have done so many things this half-term. It’s only when you reflect back you can reflect and realise what an opportunity time with loved ones is:

Went to Majorca with the family
Visited an aquarium and floated with sharks.
Had family barbecues and sat in the sun on an Easter Sunday.
Ate out with family and enjoyed sharing amazing pizza.
Had a birthday celebration with friends in Wokingham and enjoyed a good catchup.
Finished my second module for my Psychology masters which was tough but great to get another out the way.
Went with my wife for an ultrasound scan.
Purchased some outdoor garden furniture (I see this as good karma to encourage an amazing summer).
Made the final plans for a good friend’s Stag Do that is coming up in May.

To be honest, I have loads more examples that I could reel off too, but I think you get the point. I am not trying to gloat or boast but I have really enjoyed the last few weeks and see time away from the norm as an OPPORTUNITY.

How have the last few weeks been for you? If you have kids, then how has the half term been for you? If you don’t, then how has the Easter period been for you? Life is what you make up for it and the sooner you start seeing your life as an OPPORTUNITY the more you can start embracing it.

Here are some good examples which you can reframe, and I know for sure when you do LIFE will just keep getting better and better and more enjoyable:

You don’t have to exercise… YOU GET to exercise.

You don’t have to look after your kids… YOU GET to look after your kids and marvel at their development.

You don’t have to get up and start the day right… YOU GET to wake up, get up and ELEVATE your life every morning… it’s a beautiful thing.

You don’t have to take 20 minutes out of your day to read the latest news… YOU GET to learn about new information that will get your brain neurons firing every single day.

You don’t have to sit down and talk to your children… YOU GET to be a role model and teach them things that they will never ever forget.

And finally, you don’t have to decide to be the best that you can possibly be… YOU GET to DECIDE to be amazing and happy, YOU GET to DESIGN a way of life that delivers that and then you GET TO take action and TAKE OWNERSHIP.

DECIDE, DESIGN, DO!

So, what am I saying to you this week then?

This week I want you to be an OPPORTUNITY magnet and live the law of attraction every single moment.

I really do believe that what you put out into the world, you get back tenfold so start putting out awesome habits that will make you OPTIMISE everything. What should we start with then?

Well, how about our good friend, the FUNdaMENTAL M.A.S.T.E.R.Y Model:

OPTIMISE your Morning rituals and watch the OPPORTUNITIES come your way.
OPTIMISE your diet and watch the OPPORTUNITY to be energized lead you on an awesome path.
OPTIMISE your state ofmind and allow your brain to offer up OPPORTUNITIES that may have been suppressed for some time.
OPTIMISE your training and, I am sure with summer being just around the corner, the added emphasis on the way you look, and function, will give you some OPPORTUNITIES.
OPTIMISE your environment and allow the positive to whoop the negative in every possible way. Eradicate the negatives and I just wonder what OPPORTUNITIES will land at your feet.
OPTIMISE your rest and recovery and I truly believe the impossible will become the possible. OPPORTUNITIES occur when you are at your best, you are at your best when you are at an optimal state of performance.
And finally, OPTIMISE YOU. What do you stand for? What matters to you? What OPPORTUNITIES would change your life?
