EXCITEMENT was in the air at St Sebastian’s C of E Primary School and Nursery, as the school officially opened its new library.
Described as a vibrant and welcoming space, it’s designed to spark a lifelong love of reading in pupils at the school.
It was officially opened by local writer, speaker, and former professional footballer Seth Burkett, who shared with pupils his unique journey from the football pitch to the world of writing.
Challenge helped shape his success, he told them, as he encouraged the students to believe in themselves.
His message struck a chord, with many children excited to purchase one of his books, and several of his titles are now proudly displayed in the school’s new library collection.
Head of school Ms Cohen said: “We were absolutely thrilled to welcome Seth to our school. “His story of resilience and determination has truly inspired our children to keep going, no matter the setbacks.
“He showed them that they can achieve anything with passion and perseverance.”
The school says that its freshly stocked library now offers a wide range of books for all ages and interests, creating a warm and engaging environment for reading, discovery, and imagination.
It adds that Seth’s visit made the official opening a truly unforgettable occasion for everyone involved.
St Sebastian’s offers a nurturing, community-focused environment within a beautiful woodland setting.
The Crowthorne school currently has spaces available, and welcomes enquiries from parents.
