Reader Michael Storey got in touch, suggesting the town of Wokingham had achieved fame at last after appearing as an answer in a recent Times newspaper crossword puzzle.
He told Wokingham Today that other answers had provided him with the letters A, B and R to the five letter word.
The clue simply said: “Warning light in Wokingham, Berkshire.”
He said: “I looked up five-letter words on a crossword solver. The other two options were Akbar and Arbor, so I suppose that amber was the easiest one to compose a clue for, and WokinghAM BERks fitted the bill.”
