THERE is a feast of Friday fun lined up for youngsters in Crowthorne this summer.
An assault course, climbing wall and even a mobile cave are just some of the attractions at the popular Summer Activities spectacular.
Organised by Churches Together Crowthorne, the free event will run for four Fridays during July and August on the Morgan Recreational Ground.
Aimed at children aged between four and 13, there is also space for parents with younger infants, in need of a few hours time out.
Janet Rogers, one of the organisers said: “We have loads of activities for children to let off steam as well as quieter events such as crafts and Bible stories.
“There will also be room for parents and younger children to have a time out when they can enjoy meeting and speaking with other parents. If you bring the coffee or a picnic, we’ll provide the space.
“We are hoping for good weather but should it rain, we have a large crafts tent which is always popular.”
With up to 200 children attending each Friday, Janet urged families to book ahead.
More than £6,000 has been donated from local groups and bodies including the Diocese of Oxford, Wokingham Without Parish Council, Crowthorne Parish Council and Wokingham United Charities.
Local shops and suppliers have also been generous with discounts and donations, among them Villa Roma Pizza, Tesco and the Co-op.
Summer Activities starts on Friday, July 28, then runs on Friday, August 4, 11 and 18 inclusive.
All sessions take place between 3pm and 5pm.
