A HOST of entertainment is promised to visitors of this year’s Swallowfield Show.
The event takes place at Whitehouse Farm in Spencers Wood over the August bank holiday weekend and organisers are promising something for all the family.
There will be arena shows, live music, circus displays, fairground rides and exhibitions of crafts, fruits and vegetables and photography, with prizes on offer to the best exhibits.
Big attractions will be the Stallions of Substance, the UK’s top equine display team, and Bob Hogg’s Sheepdog Display which includes a lamb national.
Reading Scottish Pipe Band and the Old Basing Corps of Drums will also perform while there will be local history displays and an exhibition organised by the Reading Cage Bird Society.
A spokesperson said: “Roll up, roll up for a now legendary two days of live entertainment. Enjoy all the excitement and fun of these leading attractions at Swallowfield Show on August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday.”
Tickets for the show cost £8 or £1 for children and there is free car parking on site. The gates open at 9am each day.
