Crews from Thames Valley Police and Royal Berkshire fire and rescue were on scene this morning on the Norreys Estate in Wokingham.
An eyewitness at the scene told Wokingham Today it was believed to be an incident in Essame Close.
At least four police vehicles and two fire engines were believed to be present.
A spokesperson for Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue told Wokingham Today: “At 10:05am on Tuesday, 25 November, we received reports of a fire near Norreys Avenue in Wokingham.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue service crews from Bracknell and Ascot fire stations were sent to the scene.
“Upon arrival, crews found one tumble dryer on fire.
“Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire, before using a ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the property and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and make the scene safe.
“They were on scene for approximately one hour and 15 minutes.”
