A group of pupils that formed the first intake of pupils at Emmbrook School met for a reunion last week.
The event marked 60 years since they enrolled at the school. Some had also been to the old St Paul’s primary school.
Gary Wells, who organised the reunion, told Wokingham Today: “We were kindly given a tour around the school by a member of the school staff, Jane Rimmer, and we were amazed by the changes, and by some things that have remained the same – like the school Bank, art room, and the main hall which seemed so much bigger to us back then when we were all sitting on the floor being welcomed to our new school by the much-missed headmaster Richard Carter.
“I have had the pleasure of organising the reunions since 1998 and hope us friends will continue to meet up again as long as we are able.”
