Southern Region Women’s League Cup

ASCOT UNITED stormed through with a clinical attacking display to beat EVERSLEY & CALIFORNIA.

After holding out for just over half an hour, the deadlock was broken when Claire Couzens’ found the net via a deflection.

The floodgates opened and the Yellas scored twice more before half-time through Philippa Holden and Isabel Woods.

Ascot continued their scoring streak after the restart when Nicole Brown added a fourth.

Two goals in two minutes gave the Yellas a commanding lead when Tiffany Skinner netted before Brown found her second goal of the game.

The scoring was rounded off with 20 minutes to go when Hayley Cruickshank latched onto a rebound to seal a spectacular 7-0 win for the hosts.

WOODLEY UNITED kept their hopes of a league and cup double alive after defeating ABBEY RANGERS.

Sarah Lawrence blocked a defenders clearance with the deflection finding the net to put Woodley ahead before Gemma Sims was on hand to double the advantage on the stroke of half-time.

Five minutes after the restart, Woodley earned their third goal to all but seal the cup tie when Sims added her second of the game.

Thames Valley Women’s Division One

WARGRAVE climbed up to second place to keep the heat on the league leaders with a win at Slough Town.

After a goalless first-half, Wargrave found their scoring groove in the second.

A double from Hannah Sheehan and strikes from Millie Bilcliff and Alison Richardson helped them to a 4-1 success.

Wargrave are in second on 25 points, seven points behind table toppers New Bradwell but with two games in hand.

 

Thames Valley Women’s Division Two

S4K BERKS COUNTY suffered their fifth league loss of the season at the hands of league leaders Wycombe Wanderers Reserves.

Megan Cox was on the scoresheet for the Fawkes, but they were narrowly beaten 2-1.

S4K are in seventh position with 12 points from 11 games.
