Combined Counties Premier North

League leaders ASCOT UNITED strengthened their title push with a last minute winner to beat WOKINGHAM & EMMBROOK.

It seemed as if the Sumas would earn an impressive away point to ease their relegation fears, but they suffered a heartbreaking end to the match.

But with the game in the 93rd minute and with time running out, the Yellas found a vital winner when Marcus Mealing found Rob Gerrard who smacked the ball past the goalkeeper to break the deadlock in the dying seconds.

Ascot are eight points clear at the top of the table after 24 matches.

The Sumas are one place above the bottom of the table on 17 points and have played two more matches than bottom side Oxhey Jets.

However, Ascot were on the end of a rare defeat, which was just their second of the campaign, as they lost 1-0 at Hilltop on Tuesday night.

The Sumas lost out 4-0 at home to Harefield United on Tuesday.

READING CITY maintained their push near the top of the league by defeating Oxhey Jets.

With the game goalless right up until the final few moments of the match the Cityzens found a winner in the dying embers of the game.

Dan Davies popped up with the all important goal to head in from Eddie Lazarczuk’s corner to help the Cityzens to a 1-0 win.

City are in third on 57 points, level on points and with two games in hand on second placed Egham Town.

Southern League Premier South

BRACKNELL TOWN dropped down a place into fifth after they lost at home to Poole Town.

Late goals in each half saw the visitors return with all three points.

The Robins are on 54 points from 27 games, one point behind Poole with three games in hand.

Isthmian South Central

BINFIELD lost ground on the play-off places after losing at home to Westfield.

James Beauchamp got on the scoresheet late in the game, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 2-1 defeat.

The Moles are in sixth on 42 points from 27 games, four points behind fifth placed Chertsey Town with two games in hand.
