Former Reading FC loanee Emi Martinez added another trophy to his collection last weekend with Argentina.
The former Royal, who helped to kickstart his career back in 2019 during a loan stint in Berkshire in 2019, has added another Copa America to his tally of trophies.
Martinez helped Argentina to win the Copa America back in 2021 and was named in the Team of the Tournament.
He then went on to star for his country as Lionel Messi and co lifted the World Cup in 2022 in Qatar.
The 31-year-old, who has won 45 caps for Argentina, now has a third international trophy having won the Copa America last weekend.
Argentina beat Colombia in the final of the competition as Lautaro Martienz scored the only goal of the game in extra-time to see them to a record breaking 16th Copa America title.
Martinez made 18 appearances for Reading in 2019 as he helped the club to survive relegation from the Championship under Jose Gomes with some outstanding performances.
Since then, his career has gone from strength to strength as he helped Arsenal to win the FA Cup in 2020 before earning a move to Aston Villa.
He will be playing Champions League football next season after he starred for Unai Emery’s side who finished 4th in the Premier League in the 2023/24 campaign.
