FORMER READING FC star and academy graduate Omar Richards looks set to complete a loan move from Nottingham Forest to Greek giants Olympiacos.

Since making the move to Forest last summer, Richards has struggled with injury and has yet to make an appearance for the club.

Richards worked his way into the first team with the Royals and made his debut in 2017.

He established himself as a mainstay in the side for the 2019/20 where he made 34 appearances in all competitions before playing 42 games in the 2020/21 campaign, where Reading narrowly missed out on the play-offs under Veljko Paunovic.

After his deal with Reading expired at the end of that season, Richards made an incredible move on a free transfer as he joined Bayern Munich on a four-year contract.

Richards played 17 times in his only season in Germany in all competitions as Munich won the Bundesliga.

Having secured promotion to the Premier League, Forest paid £8.5million to sign Richards, but his development at the club has been stunted by a cruel injury record.

Richards fractured his shin which kept him sidelined for five months before he suffered a double hernia which ended his season.

The 25-year-old now looks set to complete a season long loan move to Olympiacos to play in the Greek Super League.
