Former Reading FC defender Chris Gunter has joined League Two AFC Wimbledon on a one-year deal.
Gunter joins another former Royal after Alex Pearce joined the Dons earlier in the summer transfer window.
Gunter spent eight years at Reading after joining from Nottingham Fores in 2012.
After Reading’s promotion to the Premier League under Brian McDermott, the right-back joined the squad and made 20 top flight appearances in his debut season.
Gunter went on to become a reliable performer in the blue and white hoops across seven more seasons as the Royals plied their trade in the Championship.
The full-back made 280 league appearances in total for the Royals ans cored two goals.
After leaving Reading after the expiration of his contract in 2020, Gunter joined Charlton Athletic in League One.
Across two seasons, Gunter played 54 league games for Charlton and will not play in League Two next season.
Gunter has an incredible 109 international caps for Wales and will be hoping to force his way into the World Cup squad ahead of the winter tournament in Qatar.
Wales will be in the World Cup for the first time since 1958 after they secured a spot in this year’s competition by beating Ukraine in the play-offs.
