HOME-schooled children can now join weekly adventure sessions at Dinton Activity Centre designed to boost their confidence, independence and essential life skills.
The programme is suitable for children aged six to 14 and offers a variety of outdoor activities to help them explore the natural world and geography of the outdoors, build teamwork and communication skills through group challenges, and develop motor skills.
The sessions are designed to offer excitement and educational value, so no two weeks are the same.
Challenges will include use of a climbing wall, high rope activities, bushcraft and orienteering.
Teamwork and communication skills will be encouraged through low ropes courses and climbing, nature and the geography can be explored through hands-on water rockets, archery or navigation sessions.
Activities might vary due weather conditions and activity safety requirements, and children must be able to participate in team games and athletic pursuits.
Parents and guardians can leave the park during the session, but there is an on-site café and free playground for them and any siblings waiting, should they wish to stay, and they can bring a picnic or packed lunch with them when necessary.
Sessions take place at Dinton Patures on Wednesdays during term time, from 10.30am until 12.30pm.
Starting on January 22, they run every Wednesday through to April 2, with the exception of Wednesday, February 19.
Sessions cost £24 each, and can be booked singly or as a block, with a 15% discount offered for a six-week booking.
