Rib-eye steak from The Warren pub can now be delivered to your home

IF YOU’VE ever fancied a real gastropub meal without leaving the comfort of your own home, a new initiative will be right up your kitchen table.

Wokingham’s innovative food delivery company Supper.co.uk, which sends freshly cooked meals to the borough’s homes has teamed up with The Warren to add pub classics to its rapidly expanding menu.

Each of the dishes on Supper’s menu have been made by local people in their kitchens and have been checked by a Harley Street nutritionist to ensure that they are healthy and use fresh ingredients, giving customers peace of mind about their intake of calories, fat, salt and sugar.

Up until now, all the chefs have been hand-picked by the company for what they can offer and that means any world cuisine could be on the menu. Customers using the app can see profiles of the food and the chefs and have their tastebuds tickled.

Now, the range has been expanded with the gastropub grub including 9oz rib-eye steak, chicken and bacon salad, a Mediterranean mezze or chicken and leek pie.

Sharing platters, thyme roasted portobello mushrooms and homemade burgers – using British beef – are also on the menu.

They can all be ordered, while stocks last, via supper.co.uk’s phone app or on the computer during the day ready for home delivery.

The Warren’s food is available for delivery between 5.15pm and 9pm Monday to Thursday, other dishes are available seven days a week.

Based on the Forest Road, The Warren describes itself as a premium pub, bar and restaurant and has just expanded its range of vegan dishes.

The link-up with Supper.co.uk, which is now entering its second year of business in Wokingham, has pleased the company’s bosses.

Supper.co.uk’s Duncan Scott told The Wokingham Paper: “We are delighted that Supper has teamed up with head chef Dodi at local gastropub The Warren, to bring home-cooked pub classics to your door every Monday to Thursday.

“The Warren has a great local reputation and head chef Dodi has carefully selected some of his best dishes for us to deliver.”

The service launched on Monday and early indications are that it will be a success.

Mr Scott said: “I believe they are the only gastropub in the area that will now be offering a delivery service so giving people the chance to have things like fillet steaks, gourmet burgers, sharing platters etc delivered ready to eat.

“We’re really excited by the team-up.”
