WITH just a few weeks to go until an autumn charity event, people people are invited to sign up to take part.
An annual Wokingham Walk, organised by Wokingham Lions Club, begins and ends in the town centre.
It gives people in the borough an opportunity to discover some of the beautiful and interesting places in the area, and offers three walks of different lengths.
People can enjoy being outdoors in beautiful countryside, while catching up with family and friends, preparing for a longer route, or encouraging youngsters to take time away from screens.
Wokingham Lion Andy Slay, who heads The Wokingham Walk team said: “I’m delighted that this event has been so well received by the town, and that both the spring and autumn Wokingham Walks are now firm fixtures in Wokingham’s Calendar.
“Local charities and individuals increasingly use the event to fundraise by sponsorship, something that we always wanted to happen from the event’s inception”.
Taking part in the walk costs £15 per adult, £5 per child aged 12 to 17, and is free for younger children.
All under 16s should be accompanied by an adult.
People are advised to check town centre parking costs carefully if they arrive by car.
Parking fees in Wokingham have recently changed and now include Sunday parking costs.
The Wokingham Lions Club Wokingham Walk will take place on Sunday, October 15.
It begins and ends in Elms Field, and participants can choose to take either: a five mile, a 10 mile, or a 15 mile route.
