A BUILDING firm has submitted an application to Wokingham Borough Council for permission to build two houses and leave space for a self-build bungalow on land on Nine Mile Ride in Finchampstead.
The land currently contains a single bungalow and a large garden.
Consultants from Waller Planning say the applicant intends to live in the custom bungalow, while the two semi-detached houses would fund the new home.
In pre-application advice, council planning officers objected to similar plans for two houses as the layout was inconsistent with the pattern of surrounding houses. The council’s highways department also said it would prefer vehicle access to be via Kiln Ride Extension, which runs alongside the site.
Developers said they had taken the comments on board and adjusted the layout before submitting their application.
