WOKINGHAM COMMUNITY AWARDS is a great opportunity to thank the borough’s unsung heroes, and we are determined to make a fuss of the winners.
On Wednesday, November 8, we will hold a special gala event to announce which of the shortlisted entries will be the winners.
Our judges will have a hard time deciding as we have already receive so many fantastic and worthy nominations. But we’re keen for more.
The master of ceremonies for the special event will be Graeme Hobbs
Graeme is Senior Partner at local firm, Hobbs Granger Roitt Chartered Certified Accountants, and founder of Wokingham Positive Difference networking, an organisation that helps bring together local government, business and community leaders to meet and collaborate in a variety of ways.
The last four years, he has served as Hon. Treasurer for Wokingham United Charities and is currently president of Wokingham Speakers. Both these organisations, he believes, make a valuable contribution to individuals and groups looking to create positive energy in our borough.
Graeme says he is thrilled to be part of a process that will recognise some special contributions from those across the community and hopes that the event will stimulate those wanting to help to do so.
The Wokingham Community Awards are run by Wokingham Today, in association with Wokingham Borough Council, and will be an annual event dedicated to celebrating the great and good of our fabulous Borough.
The event honours the amazing work done by individuals, groups and local businesses at the fabulous All Saints Church in Wokingham town, and showcases some amazing stories of just what a difference people can make in our local community.
The Wokingham Community Awards feature categories aimed at shining a spotlight on many aspects of our borough, from Remenham and Ruscombe in the north to Crowthorne, Finchampstead and Shinfield in the south.
We’ve been inundated with nominations since we launched last week, but we want as many as possible.
If you know someone who fits one of the awards, make sure you put them forward.
There is no charge to nominate, and we’ll feature some of the nominations in the run-up to the ceremony.
All nominations, groups, individuals or businesses must be located within the Wokingham Borough.
To enter is simply, all you need to do is either write to Wokingham Community Awards, Wokingham Today, Crown House, 231 Kings Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 4LS or email us at [email protected]
Our judges will decide on the winners who will be notified before the awards night so they can attend and enjoy celebrating the great and good of Wokingham Borough.
We look forward to hearing your amazing stories and keep reading Wokingham Today in print or online to hear more about the awards including meeting the judges and hosts.
