The annual race between The Island Sailing Club Reading and Goring Thames Sailing club took place on their Pingewood lake last weekend.
The competition consisted of two races which had good sailing weather with wind of 10 miles per hour.
However, infrequent bursts of 18 miles per hour kept helmsmen on their toes, but all coped without any capsizes.
Seven boats from each club took to the water with eight different classes taking part.
It was the Finn of Donald Frances which was first past the finishing line on both the day’s races, which gained him a special prize but more importantly helped Goring to regain the trophy it left at the Island club last year.
The return match on Goring’s stretch of the Thames takes place later in the year.
