The new football pitches at High Copse sports ground, off Hyde End Road in Shinfield, are now ready and in use by Shinfield Rangers Football Club.
Their under-14 girls were first to use it, hosting a home match which they won!
This outdoor sports site was provided by the University of Reading as part of a legal agreement linked to new housing being built in the area.
The pavilion opened some time ago under Shinfield Parish Council’s management and can be hired on weekday evenings.
It has a large function room, changing rooms and a kitchen and bar, with two football pitches and a full-size cricket pitch outside.
