AT ITS December meeting this week, Wokingham Positive Difference will bring to life the arts.
The group, which brings together people from business, the voluntary sector and local government, has arranged A festive Arts and Culture experience for visitors to its Christmas gathering, titled: The Art of Business.
The breakfast event will explore how arts and culture can inspire creativity, support wellbeing, and strengthen business thinking.
The morning will be brought to life with speakers, stories, and performances to lift the festive spirit.
Keynote speaker this month is Sarah Kempton from Wokingham Improv, co-creator of the multi-award-winning show CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation.
Sarah will share how improvisation builds confidence, sharpens communication, and develops agile thinking.
Comedy improv is live theatre where performers work together to create characters, sketches, and stories from audience suggestions.
It is fundamentally about teamwork — and the use of techniques, skills, and tools that enable performers to shape a scene collaboratively in the moment.
Local artist and gallery owner Richard Young will reflect on how art can inspire, uplift, and make a memorable Christmas gift at Christmas.
Richard will also unveil plans for the Wokingham En Plein Air Art Competition, an open-air live art painting competition to be held throughout the town in June 2026, culminating in a public exhibition and Awards Prize Giving Ceremony in Market Square.
And long-term member and Wokingham Positive Difference collaborator Jonathan Bowring will give a saxophone performance.
WPD monthly meetings offer open networking, buffet breakfast, and news updates from its team, local businesses, government, and community groups.
The December meeting will take place at Wokingham Town Hall, this Friday, December 12.
Doors open at 8am.
Tickets cost £25 and booking is essential.
