There’s just 10 days until Christmas Eve and thoughts are very much on buying those last minutes presents and stocking fillers such as chocolate coins, candy canes, Quality Street, Matchmakers and selection boxes.
But the impending festive season is not the only seasonal chocolate on offer – The Wokingham Paper can reveal that Creme Eggs have already gone on sale in the borough.
Our chief photographer snapped the first hatchings of the chocolate treat in a town centre store – which we are not naming because we don’t want the supplies to run out – last week and ahead of their official on-sale date of January.
The eggs are currently not available to buy from Cadbury’s official website.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live last year, Tony Bilborough from Cadbury said that consumers didn’t want the eggs to be on sale all year round, after experimenting with them 20 years ago.
He said: “There’s something special about Creme Egg season… We long for it in those long, eggless days of summer and autumn.”
The company’s official Facebook page says that the eggs are due to go on sale on New Year’s Day, and will be on sale until April 5.
What do you think? Is it good news that the eggs are on sale now or should they be locked away until after Christmas is over? And have you spotted any other Easter eggs on sale yet? Have your say in our comments below
