MORE than £5,000 has been raised and all by asking a few questions.
Law firm Blandy & Blandy held its annual quiz night earlier this month, as part of its support for its two adopted charities, Berkshire Women’s Aid and The Cowshed, located in Wokingham.
The event saw firms and businesses based in the Thames Valley battle it out for honours, with the winning team coming from audit, tax and consulting firm RSM. They received prizes alongside their trophies.
Alongside the quiz, there was araffle, with prizes donated by, among others, Sara Batting Estate Agents, Orwells Restaurant, Stanlake Park Wine Estate, Veeno – Italian Wine Bar, The Relais Henley, Burghfield Spices, Henry Street Garden Centre, Bucklebury Farm Park, TimeTrap Escape Rooms Reading, Sonning Flowers, Siren Craft Brew and Newbury Racecourse.
Rebecca Mole, fundraising manager at The Cowshed, said: “We had such a great evening – it was just wonderful to see so many people turn out to support Blandy & Blandy’s fundraising event.
“As a rapidly growing charity, we rely heavily on the support of the community and local businesses and are just thrilled at how successful the evening was.
“A big thank you from The Cowshed – this fundraising support helps us continue to support those in need across Berkshire.”
And Alix Simpson, chief executive at BWA, said: “The Blandy & Blandy quiz night, supporting our charities, was a wonderful evening.
“It was full of fun, good food, great people and generosity, with an incredible amount of money raised to help some of the most isolated members of our local community, who need a bit of extra support to move forward positively in their lives…
“And this fundraised money will enable us to do exactly that and reach more people affected by domestic abuse. Thank you to everyone and to Blandy & Blandy.”
Blandy & Blandy’s chairman and partner Nick Burrows said the firm was delighted hold the event and welcome people from across the Thames Valley.
“Our thanks go to all those who contributed by taking tables, buying raffle tickets and donated prizes,” he added.
