WOKINGHAM Borough Libraries are planning a series of special events this half-term for younger readers.
As well as usual groups such as a chess club at Woodley Library on Thursday, June 1, there will be art sessions, pop-up science labs and special events.
Highlights include an Elmer Day storytime taking place in Maiden Erlegh, Lower Earley, Winnersh, Wokingham and Woodley Libraries on Saturday morning. It is aimed at children aged three to eight.
A fairy tale mix-up event will be fun for ages nine to 12 and takes place on Tuesday at Maiden Erlegh library, places must be booked. The same library will hold a fairytale art session on Friday, June 2.
Fairy-tale themed arts and crafts for children aged four to 12 will also be held at Lower Earley Library on Tuesday, Woodley Library on Thursday, June 1 and Wokingham Library from Friday, June 2. Sessions cost £1.50 and families can drop in.
Mini Professors is the name of a fun science-based session at Woodley Library running from 10.30am to 11.15am on Friday, June 2. It’s for children aged two to five and places must be booked in advance.

Share your ideas and take part in some fun writing exercises at Maiden Erlegh Library on Tuesday, May 30 from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. For children aged 9-12. Free event, but places must be booked.
