A man has been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and shoplifting following an investigation form Thames Valley Police.
On 30 June this year, a man was seen taking items from Tesco Express in Bath Road and leaving the store without making payment.
On 27 July, a man was seen in possession of a knife in Grenfell Avenue in which he was seen to hold up to a camera.
Following an investigation by the Berkshire East Priority Crime Team, Aaron Ballard, aged 34, of New Market, Kings Street, was arrested on 27 July.
Ballard was charged with one count of shoplifting and one count of possession of a bladed article in a public place and appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday (29/7).
He has been remanded into custody to appear at the same court on 2 September this year.
