A man has been jailed for knife, drugs and driving offences in Bracknell following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.
Leon Gannon, 36, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced to three years and one month in prison after his hearing at Reading Crown court on Thursday, April 10.
He has also been disqualified from driving four four and a half years.
Gannon pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, namely cocaine and heroin.
He also pleaded guilty to one count each of possession of a knife in a public place and failing to provide a specimen for analysis at the same hearing.
The man was arrested last year on October 15 around 4.45pm after Bracknell and Wokingham officers stopped a vehicle containing Gannon that was parked behind a row of shops in Rectory Row, Easthampstead. After finding a hunting style knife in a bag belonging to Gannon, he was arrested.
Gannon was charged on 9 November last year and remanded to custody, but was then released on conditional court bail.
Then, at around 12.35pm on 20 January 2025, officers from the same team proactively stopped Gannon and his vehicle in Bywood, Hanworth.
The officers located heroin and cocaine, with an estimated value of £2,810, in the vehicle.
The officers also attempted to conduct a roadside drugs wipe on Gannon as they suspected he was driving under the influence of drugs but he refused.
The officers arrested Gannon, who then refused to provide bloods for analysis at the police station.
He was charged in relation to this incident the following day.
Investigating officer PC Thomas Goold, of the Bracknell and Wokingham Tasking Team, said: “I am pleased to see Leon Gannon imprisoned after we found class A drugs and a knife in his possession, and he refused to be checked for drug-driving. We will not tolerate this sort of offending in Bracknell or anywhere else in the Thames Valley.
“This case shows the importance of stop and search as a tool to fight crime, such as drug-dealing, carrying knives in public and drug-driving.
“We are working hard to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs in Bracknell but we need the public’s support. If you have any information then please either call 101 or contact us via our website. You can also report information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
